Originally from Irvine, CA, Anthony Gilleland started his teaching career at Woodbridge High School, his alma mater, in 2015. Since then, he has taught at other notable groups such as Pulse Percussion, Gahr HS, Chino Hills HS as well as many other high school programs in the Southern California area. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance from CSU Fullerton where he studied with Ken McGrath, Rob Slack, and Todd Miller.



Anthony began his drum corps teaching as a consultant at Pacific Crest in 2019, later joining the Carolina Crown percussion staff, where he taught from 2019 to 2022. He then moved to The Cadets in 2023 where he was the Front Ensemble Coordinator and Orchestrator, and The Blue Stars in 2024 as a Front Ensemble tech.



He now lives in Fort Mitchell, KY, where he is the Director of Percussion Studies at Beechwood Independent Schools. He is also on staff as a consultant with Minnesota Brass Indoor Percussion and designs for Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps. He is a designer and consultant for groups around the Tri-State Area as well as an instructor at Milford High School.



Anthony is a Vic Firth and Zildjian educational artist.
