Scott Jow has been affiliated with the Mandarins for over 55 years. He joined the drum corps in 1969 as a drummer. After “aging out,” he served as an instructor, historian, special services manager, public relations manager, corps director, and board member for the organization. He was inducted into the Mandarins Hall of Fame in 2019.
After retiring as an Information Technology Manager with the State of California, Scott has been busy with volunteer work for various groups. His long experience with the Mandarins impressed upon him the importance of giving back to the community. Thus, he continues a 17-year involvement as a committee member with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 259, and 11 years as a team captain with the Land Park Volunteer Corps. Additionally, he volunteers with Make-A-Wish, California International Marathon, Ironman California, Arthritis Foundation, and other organizations.
