Sacramento Mandarins Launch Advisory Board

Sacramento, CA. (September 19, 2024) – The Sacramento Mandarins are excited to announce the formation of an Advisory Board (AB), which will launch this month. The AB will provide the organization input and recommendations on strategic initiatives, including community programs and fundraising activities.

The inaugural AB is comprised of twelve senior leaders, mostly from the greater Sacramento area, including some of the top educators, government and business leaders, and professional service partners. The team will play an impactful role in the future growth of the organization. The Mandarins mission is to transform lives through the performing arts, providing opportunities to many who may not otherwise be able to participate, and affording participants invaluable life and leadership skills.

“We are blessed to have assembled this outstanding group of elite leaders to facilitate our next stage of growth as we extend our community programs and continue to field one of the best drum & bugle corps in the nation,” stated Daniel Fong, CEO/President. “We realized that we needed ‘outside voices’ to continue our growth trajectory and achieve our goal of being one of the top youth performing arts organizations in the nation. We are extremely proud of this first Advisory Board, which is comprised of talented senior leaders, rich and diverse in background and experiences.”

The Mandarins are best known for their nationally acclaimed drum & bugle corps, which has finished as a Top 12 Finalist for the Drum Corps International World Class Championship five consecutive times, a Mandarins record. But the Mandarins are more than that, serving the greater Sacramento community through its numerous programs and initiatives.

The organization has provided the gift of music to thousands of youths over the past 61 years. Specific programs are designed to be expansive and inclusionary, exemplified by its special needs program, at-risk initiative, and drum & bugle corps, which is known as one of the most, if not the most, diverse corps in the nation.
